Summer Band refers to the daily Bearkat Band rehearsals that begin some time around the end of July and go through the first day of school. These rehearsals are when the band learns a large portion of the marching show including music, marching technique, and choreography. All members of the Bearkat Band are required to attend each summer band practice. Before school starts, the band will perform a Summer Showcase for families to come and see all they have learned!
For the 2026-2027 school year, Summer Band begins on

Make sure you have set up a plan for band fees if you have not done so already. These funds directly support instruction, equipment, travel, performances
Be on the lookout for ways you can help the band, whether it be delivering for the Flag Fundraiser, helping move props as a Volunteer Pit Pop, or joining any of the other committees available through the Klein Band Association (KBA).
Drink water!
Hydration is important. You will need to drink water before, during and after every rehearsal to avoid dehydration.
Get outside!
Start preparing yourself for being outside between 7am-11am and 5pm-8pm. This is good training for rehearsals, games, and competition days when the band and guard start early or later in the day.
